We've been home 5 weeks and things are starting to really feel normal. The kids are acting like they are siblings. Kole is beginning to understand that he does not have to be in Boyd's lap all waking hours. He is starting to really let us know what he wants and needs. This morning he was eating mini pancakes for breakfast and I was having eggs. Well, I sat down next to him, he tapped his empty plate and said dan zi (meaning egg), so I shared iwth him and Kaci. Good thing I cook myself extra!
Last night Boyd had left for work, Kali was picked up for a sleep over, then Kaci was picked up to goto a movie. So Kole and I went to the store. He was able to point to some fruit that he would like. So we got watermelon and pears to add to the apples. He also pointed to baby carrots. Ok he wanted cookies too.
The kids are starting to jump in to protect each other from Boyd. It was funny watching Kali try to keep Boyd from wrestling Kole too roughly.
We took a family picture today and had a blast using the timer function. I have included it here.
We all went to a Science Fair, Book Fair PTO dinner on Thursday and Kole had a blast. He is making lots of new friends that are older than him. There is something about 9 - 10 year old boys and liking to hang out with a 4 year old... I think if they hurt him, Kali will have their heads. Kole was selected to pull the raffle tickets for the winners and did a fabulous job and even handed the tickets to the principle who he had only seen twice before. Kole was very interested in all the Science projects and watched all he could very closely.
We purchased him a couple little books. The Gingerbread Man and Pandas. Kali wanted The Revenge of the Shadow King and Kaci wanted a Bratz book. It came with a bracelet, so of course she wanted that one.
Well the sun is out so it is time to shoo some kids out to play. Tune in for more updates. Oh yeah, Kole likes Chef Boy R Dee ravioli too!
