Kole has been making remarkable strides. He is finally asking "What's this?" over and over and when you tell him, he repeats it back to you. If he didn't get it, then he asks again. This is great! I kept wondering when he would finally become interested enough to ask.
This week we noticed that a small bug bite on Kole at the waistline ended up getting a lot larger and very painful. So we took him to the doctor. She prescribed antibiotics for it and we started them, but it didn't seem to be getting that much better... So on Friday we took him back so that the pediatrician could look again. Well, she admitted him to the hospital to have surgery to drain it. So, I am thinking okay in Friday night, home Saturday afternoon.... NOT! On Friday there was not much said as to how long he would be there or what was going on, but I was not allowed to leave the room and wander anywhere in the building. I found out we were in isolation until they found out what kin do infection it was. Then I find out today, that it was a staph infection! They could have told me that was what they expected and explained things to me. they could have told me they were thinking of keeping him three days, but no,, that would make sense and give me a chance to find back up people to watch kids etc... So then after surgery I had to wear the funny gown to protect me. I ahd been living with him and bathing him while he had this abcess... Oh well, I know they need to take precautions... Anyway while all this is going on the girls have full dress rehearsals Friday evening when I am supposed to be checking Kole in... Then recital Saturday night. Plus I had helped plan a picnic for Sunday that I had to cancel out on....
I was able to attend the recital and I am so proud of both my girls they were awesome! Kole was such a little man and took all the sticks and prods and only screamed and cried ow when the needles were dealt with.
Well, it all over now. guess I now have practice for our first Shriner's surgery next month. I will definitely be more prepared. That's all for now.
