We have been home with Kole for 10 weeks and I actually had to get a calendar out to confirm it. He is adjusting really well. He has learned which buttons to push to get Kaci to chase him. He knows it doesn't work as well with Kali. He has started using the fake plastic phones to pretend he is holding a conversation. He will now say on the fake phone, Hello, Wo jao Xi ChunXin... then talk about something and then say bye bye.
Some times he will say "I fine" while playing on the telephone. New phrase of the week is "I don't care." Of course we have used this on him when he pulls his I am better than you act, which he only does now when he is tired and not getting a lot of attention. Of course how can any of htem get a lot of attention when there are three of them and only two of us. But we are working it out.
Kole has been accepted to Pre-K and will also be having speech therapy during that time as well. He can count to 4 now and show you the numbers on his fingers. We still need to work with him on individual words for things. His favorites are Tractor, Car, truck, doggie, cat, Kaci, Kali, uh huh... napkin, please, thank you, no, mine, you, pushes, tummy. He also knows body parts if asked. He will not just give this information. It must be asked for.
Kole still drives Boyd crazy with the noises he makes to get attention. I told Boyd if he ignored him, it would slow down. Kole is now acting just like any other 4 year old boy. He has the same needs and wants, he just expresses them differently. He really likes the new baby sitter that comes to the house for two hours each weekday to watch the kids and give Boyd a break on his days off. Kayla is wonderful! She is so mature for a just becoming a junior. She already has 3 back ups lined up if she can't be here. She is always prompt and courteous and the all three of the kids just really like her. We do too!
Kole went to Sunday school for the first time today. The girls were begging to take him since it was donut day! He apparently did very well and they love having him. Great training for Pre-K!
Oh! We found out that he was calling Kaci the equivalent of a little boy's personal part! He would say this statement in Chinese. Kaci would say it back. He would laugh so hard I thought he would pee his pants. He finally said it and pointed to his pieces parts with the look of, this here is what I am saying... oh boy! Now we have Mr. poddy mouth back.. We told him not a nice word and he has stopped. Of course you have to have "the look" to make it really sink in..
No new good pictures this time, but maybe I can get one of them all in the tree again and post it. Oh, I do have one of them wrestling, guess I can add that. Their favorite sport wrestling and pretending to know karate.
