Halloween is coming near!

The kids in their Halloween Costumes.

Kole's first attempt at decorating a pumpkin.

Halloween is coming soon and the kids attended the Halloween Carnival at the grade school last night. They played games and we paid to put them in jail for 10 minutes each for $1.00. The PTO put on the carnival. The kids had a blast. Kole had never seen so many people dressed up to look like different things. One little boy standing behind Kole ws dressed up like a mummy. I told Kole "Look a mummy is behind you!" He turned around and started backing up into Kaci! It was so funny! Thne he realized it was a boy he knew from Pre-K! Just think what will happen when he goes trick or treating! I remember the girls first time out, they were timid but excepted the candy! I am sure Kole will be the same.

We attended the Fall Band and Choral concert that Kali played clarinet in. Kole was fidgety throught the whole hour that we were there. A man sitting in front of us, a big guy with a beard, caught Kole's attention without even looking at him. Kole practiacally climbed in his lap to touch his beard and point out that baba has a beard too... He asked him Why he had a beard and then pointed at his patch on his sweatshirt and talked and talked to him. When the man found out Kole was from China, he said "Ni Hao ma" and Kole said, no I no likea that.So everything we said in Chinese, Kole said he did not like it. I have heard of kids that spoke their native language and then came here and did not want anything to do with it after a while. Now I know for sure it is true.

Kole also had his speech tests and did very well. He scored from 64 - 79 in all three areas and normal for his age with a child having spoke English all their lives is 85 - 115... so he is almost there! He will receive services through the school twice a week for 20 minutes each. Plus we are to work with him for 20 minutes twice a week also for a total of 80 minutes a week.
Kole is really liking Pre-K he said his favorite friend is school is a little boy named Joey. I still am not sure which child that is, but he likes him.
