Happy Mother's Day

It is once again the day of wonders, the day we all remember our moms and their moms. I remember way back in 1998 to my very first mother's day. Kali had been with us less than a year. Her and daddy had gone into Springfield and picked up bagels and then stopped somewhere else. Kali was dressed in a very pretty little lavendar dress and white shoes. She had on a straw hat with a lavender band and a pretty row of daisies. She came running up to me on the front porch carrying a hanging basket of pretty silk lavender colored flowers with a grin as big as Texas on her face. How can one ever foget that! Now ten years later I have my three wonders. Today was like most any other Sunday, drinking coffee reading the paper, and planning the day. Kole kept asking when I would open his present. I told him when I was ready to celebrate than I would open it. After a quick breakfast I took off to Lowes and the grocery store. When I returned, the kids unloaded all the groceries, took me to my bedroom and closed the door. Kaci and Kole were singing some silly song and bouncing and laughing. They were told to distract me. LOL Then they left and came in bearing gifts. Kaci had planted an impatien in a shoe, Kole had a handprint on a tile for me, and Kali and Dad carried in a stereo of sorts, it plays albums! and cds! and has a radio!!! I have always wanted one! Oh and since most mothers days are just any other day, I bought myself a new necklace as my little gift to me!

Now on to updates...

Kali had a band concert with another small town band this past Thursday and it was awesome! More than awesome, fantastic!
Kaci has a music program coming up. Kole had his pre-k program and Kali has another band concert. Boyd went with Kali on her field trip to Mark Twain Caves. I went on a rainy field trip with Kole in Bloomington, then I met Kaci for her field trip on a sunny hot day at Lincoln Memorial Gardens.

Kole had his kindergarten physcial and he is now 42 1/4 inches tall and 37 pounds! Most might not think tha tuis much but he has now grown a couple inches since coming home and gained 5 pounds!

We have put in a garden with the help of the kids. WE planted tomatos, bell peppers, banana peppers, cucumber, cantaloupe, zucchini, summer squash, green beans, carrots, and spinach.
We have been busy!

To end this post, to all my friends who are mothers or waiting to become one, Happy Mother's Day!!!
